This Frugal Princess has done it! Yes, I have not gone down to the coffee shop at all last week or today! Wow! See, I knew I could do it.
On Saturday that just passed I ended up at Shopper's Drugmart and they had their Optimum Card Redemption day - so I spent $132.00 and cashed in my points - so - my bill ended up being $32.00 - a savings of $100.00.
Here's how I get even more points - but - you have to pay off your visa bill every single month in full - or - you will lose money in interest. When I buy at Shoppers Drugmart I always use my Visa Travel Card and collect even more points!
Regarding points cards - if you don't use it - then - lose it - cut it up - get rid of it.
Remember - baby steps. Tomorrow is another day and we all can do better.
Once the freezing weather comes - that - is when I bring all my lunches to work. The cold motivates me to do it. The heat motivates me not to do it.
Remember - the piggy bank mentality - saving those pennies - for a rainy day. When we were kids we did it. So, now that were mature adults - we should keep doing it. That $25.00 you put in your interest savings account will add up and you can eventually save it towards a vacation - or - pay off a bill.
Let's listen in to some frugal tips and tricks:
This video had some great ideas!
Go through your closets - all those bags of little things you've been keeping. Oh, you found some shampoo - and - some toothpaste - and - some other things you use all the time. Well, that's helpful - and - less of a shock to your next grocery bill. See now you are learning to be frugal.
This Frugal Princess is going to sign off now - but - remember - always pay yourself first.
Goodnite to all you Frugal Prince or Princesses in Frugal land.

What is a Frugal Princess?
Me, I am a self proclaimed frugal princess! Why, because I have become en-lighted to the fact that my money problems are going to be solved by becoming more frugal.
What is frugal? For different people different things. For me, this diary on how to become more of a frugal princess - in your world - for all women - in all countries - no barriers - is very frugalicious.
A frugal mindset must take place - stop - examine - dissect - what, where, and how - you are spending your money. Maybe you need to get out of debt? Maybe you want to get married on the cheap? Maybe you just need to make ends meet.
Well this Frugal Princess is going to show you ways you never though of - on - how to become your own frugal prince or princess - we are not gender bias.
I will soon be setting up a mailbag and would like to hear how you save money.
I want to tell frugal success stories. Listen to this one:
I think the best frugal tip I got this week was from a lady who puts her credit cards in the freezer and has to defrost before she can use them.
My resolution for this month is not to buy products from the hairdresser. Honestly, the drugstore has awesome products - just as good - and half the price.
I have decided to paper bag it this entire week - so if it means eating crackers and cheese etc. who cares -
I am saving a lot of money.
Another resolution this week is that I am going to make all of my own teas at work - yes green tea - is an antioxidant - so it's healthy.
I am also going to phone my cell phone provider and see if there are any deals that they can add to my plan to make my cell plan less expensive.
The only gig on for this week is I do have pizza and a paper-view with a good friend on Friday's but hey he splits the cost so it's not so bad.
I try to balance my food shopping with my eating out with friends - so - that is all factored into my budget.
Always try to save a little in your interest free savings account - then - when it has added up substantially you can pay off a bill.
Let's listen to a frugal coupon Queen:
Oh and if you want free stuff go to :
swagbucks.ca
Just think back - how did our Mom - save money? How did we come to this point where all we do is spend our money?
So my challenge to all you future Frugal Princes or Princesses is this:
Find one coupon this week that is going to save you money.
I recently had 3 coupons from Shopper's drugmart and I got the Olay PROx brush system for a whole $8.00.
Now that is a huge savings.
I believe in using the airmiles cards when you shop - for example - I went to Las Vegas - got my hotel and airfare for free - by just using my Travel Visa Card points.
Okay, sometimes you do have to spend to get: but frugal shopping is thinking about what you need versus what you don't need. So the inpulse shopping has to stop. You must start thinking about every purchase and ask yourself - do I really need this?
Walking is free and healthy too.
If you do go out with friends for dinner once in awhile - pick a cheaper restaurant.
Eat out less and cook more - so - invest in a crock pot - something I have to do!
Factor in all of your eating out with your groceries.
Rent movies from the movie store - it will help you stop using paper-views. Or get a few oldies from the library - free - and free is good.
Remember - take baby steps - Rome was not built in a day.
Save your money - but always, always - pay yourself first.
I hope you will bookmark this page and send it out to all of your friends.
